Areveeal – Amblex (Silhouette Tapes 004)

Roger van Lunteren( 030303 records, fabric(uk), Mental Groove (ch)) aka Areveeal embarks on an ambient journey full of sonic sideways and analogue synth jams, again displayin Follow this compass and path while the music proceeds, as it takes patience and experience not to skip through it.

With a duration of 63 minutes „amblex“ – released on the Frankonian experimental cassette label Silhouette Tapes – almost doubles the duration of RVL’s distortion tale „float“ (37 minutes / tmæins CD, 2001). Recorded in 1994 to music cassette, RVL releases an epic ambient recording that had laid dormant in his drawer for almost 23 years. Visual support comes again from the Dutch illustrator Merijn Hos (merijnhos.com, 030303 recs/Utrecht). His artwork perfectly underlines all acoustic nuances of „amblex“, easily inducing synesthetic impressions in the listener.

Syntaxx Records Fourth Release – Sintaxis EP (Madness BA)

Syntaxx brings you the anticipated 4th release in their digital catalogue. Madness Ba has skilfully crafted 2 rich but stripped organic groovers for your listening pleasure. The main track(and EP namesake), ‘Sintaxis’ promises to keep your foot tapping and head nodding to its infectious groove. ‘Sophisticated’ has its roots firmly in the continental deep/dream house sound with lashings of the signature Syntaxx dub. Reimagining this work is Matt Lee’s Martial Arts Mix, an energy filled extended tool-like cut aimed at the dance floor. Cateran finishes off the EP with his Restless Rework; a fidgety, Upbeat remix in his signature style.

Code Deploy – Permanent Risk EP (BUDARE006)

Code Deploy are self confessed ‘dub chord riders’ Jose Mata and Gino Azuero, who hail from Bogota and are up next on Barcelona based Budare: which was founded in 2015 by Moreon & Baffa. Starting off with the bumpin’ and hypnotic tech house of “Breathing” which has a real sense of swing to it that will appeal to fans Varhat or Mandar. On the flip, the smooth dubbed out groove that is “Dusty Dream takes it deeper, as does “Flummox” which works those delay drenched and reverberated aesthetics even more, assisted by some lush and ethereal elements. These ones are great for playing during the warm up or the afterhours alike and will mix well with your Mountain People Records.

Shinichi Atobe – From The Heart, It’s A Start, A Work Of Art

Epic EP this one, been playing a few tracks the last few weeks on the show.

Review from Boomkat

This album has its origins 17 yeas ago in early 2000, before Chain Reaction released the legendary Ship-Scope 12”. Three of the tracks here are taken from an acetate cut at Dubplates & Mastering at that time but which wouldn’t see the light of day until now, including another batch of tracks taken from original masters. Only 5 copies of that acetate were ever made so this is the first time any of these tracks are available for public consumption and, for our money, rank among the finest and most distinctive in either the Chain Reaction or Shinichi Atobe’s vaults.

BJika EP 002

The second EP from Bjika sees an increase tempo, delivering deep techno rollers at 122 bpm. Bjika carefully programmes each synth sound from scratch then runs them through individually tailored effects patches to draw out the essence of each sound over time. There is plenty more in the pipeline. Mastered by GenDnb.

Docetism – Beskidy [nichts32]

New dubby material from Docetism.

Beskidy (eng. Beskids or Beskid Mountains) is a name for discontinuous series of mostly forested mountain ranges in the Carpathians that lay in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Ukraine.

Each track was inspired by a different experience on one of many trails of Beskidy.

Hiking is not just a recreational activity. It’s about getting closer to nature, nurturing bonds with others and experiencing life in its simplest form – getting from point A to point B. For the very essence of life is will and will is movement. So pack your backpack and go.
